and Loma Portal Foundation raise money throughout the school year to benefit
Loma Portal students. While
opportunities exist all year for you to make an impact on Loma Portal, the
earlier you give the earlier your gift can go to work supporting our students!
The
most direct way to make an impact on Loma Portal is by supporting the Dolphin
Fund. The Dolphin Fund is our annual giving
campaign and all proceeds go directly toward supporting our students. You can make your tax-deductible today by

addition to supporting Loma Portal through the Dolphin Drive, we host a variety
of fundraising events throughout the year.
The following is a schedule of our events for 2011-2012. We hope you will participate in one or all of
these great events and show your Dolphin spirit!
2011-12 FUNDRAISING CALENDAR AT-A-GLANCE:
SEPTEMBER
Scholastic Book Fair - For one week all students have the opportunity to
purchase books and accessories from the world renowned Scholastic book
company. All proceeds help us fund much needed books for classrooms and further classroom assistance. There is another book fair that coincides with the school Open House in the Spring.
OCTOBER
Jog-A-Thon
This is a Dolphin
favorite! Students run laps to raise funds for Loma Portal. The Jog-A-Thon is a great opportunity to
reach out to your family, friends and neighbors and provide them with an
opportunity to support your son or daughter’s efforts and all of Loma
Portal. The Jog-A-Thon provides an
opportunity to expand support of Loma Portal beyond just Dolphin parents. We encourage everyone to bring in as many

Monster Bash
While not formally a fundraiser, this event
annually brings in several hundred dollars for the school. In addition to our world-famous haunted house
(built by our very own Dad’s Club), Monster Bash has tons of games, contests

MARCH
Silent Auction
Proceeds from our silent
auction go to support the Loma Portal Foundation and their efforts to support
technology and enhancements of our campus.
The auction is great way to pick up anything from a priceless piece of
art designed by Loma Portal students to a getaway vacation. Always a good time, the auction
provides Dolphin parents with an opportunity to have a great night out and
benefit our students at the same time.
MAY
Home and Garden Tour
The
Loma Portal Elementary Home and Garden Tour provides its participants with a
way to see some of Point Loma’s finest homes and gardens. This event is a must for anyone with a green
thumb or an eye for beauty as we highlight the grand historic tradition and diversity of Loma
Portal. Tickets can be purchased in
advance or the day of the tour at Loma Portal Elementary. There is also a craft fair and rewarding Gift Basket Raffles located at the school on the day of the
event.
YEAR ROUND FUNDRAISERS:
Dolphin Fund - The Dolphin Fund is the
easiest and most direct way to support Loma Portal! Every gift makes an
impact and no gift is too big or too small.
We recognize every gift and special recognition is provided for members
of the Bottlenose Society, our leadership annual giving society.

Fresh & Easy - Collecting any receipt over $20 from September 15 –
December 31, 2011 earns Loma Portal $1 for each receipt. Turn receipts into the office. Loma Portal also hosts a Shopping Night on 10/17/11 where we receive a portion of the sales for the
evening. Be sure to stock up on
everything you need from Fresh & Easy on Monday October 17th between 4:00 – 8:00 pm to
help our students!
Loma Portal Logo Wear
Date: Spirit Friday's
Get into the school spirit! We encourage students
and parents to wear their Loma Portal Elementary logo wear on Spirit Fridays
and to school outings and functions. Logo Wear is available for sale year-round
and is available in youth, women's, and men's sizes. We have several
designs in short sleeve, long sleeve and hooded sweatshirts! Also show your
support by picking up a new vinyl sticker for your car or maybe your child’s
binder! *Note: logowear is not a fundraiser.

Target - Designate your Target Red Card and your
Target Visa Card to support Loma Portal Elementary and start earning FREE money for Loma Portal! Target
will donate 1% of your purchases at Target and Target.com and 1/2% of Target
Visa Credit Card purchases made everywhere Visa credit cards are accepted.
Target
also has a Target Red Card Debit Card, that is not a credit card, but
still will dontate % to Loma Portal. Sign up at Target checkouts and
